Riverwood Downs is set on the banks of a mountain river in the foothills of Barrington Tops just 21/2 hours north of Sydney, and 11/2 hours North of Newcastle (between Stroud and Gloucester). It has 15 acres of manicured park land and gardens and is part of a 750 acre cattle breeding property with many kilometres of walking trails and river frontage. Whether looking for a great family holiday, a little adventure, or just rest and relaxation, find it here.

Activities available on site include bushwalking, horseriding, swimming, canoeing, watching the wildlife - or just do nothing. Campfires are allowed on the unpowered sites and well behaved pets are welcome.

Driving Info:

FROM NORTHERN NSW
The property is situated between Dungog and Gloucester. Coming from the North, it depends on whether travelling on the New England or Pacific Highways. If using the New England Hwy, turn off the Highway at Uralla (just south of Armidale) and proceed through Walcha and Nowendoc to Gloucester and then follow the directions from Gloucester as listed below OR turn off at Singleton and proceed through Gresford to Dungog and then follow the map from Dungog to Monkerai. The last 17kms is a good gravel road (The Uralla turn off is the shortest and quickest option).. Alternatively travelling on the Pacific Hwy, turn right at Nabiac to Krambach. At Krambach turn left onto the Bucketts Way to Gloucester. From Gloucester, head South for about 35 kms towards Newcastle. Pass through the villages of Stratford, Craven and Wards Riverand find the turn to Monkerai on the right about 5kms South of Wards River. Do watch for the turn off as it comes up rather quickly if travelling at highway speed.
