Noble Park  Victoria

Located about halfway between the swimming and fishing beaches of Port Phillip Bay and the scenic wonderland of the Dandenong Ranges, Noble Park is a suburb in Melbourne’s ‘second city’ of Dandenong. An important link in Victoria’s commercial and industrial chain, the Dandenong area is also graced by two superb recreational and wildlife reserves - Churchill and Lysterfield . Churchill swarms with flocks of parrots, honeyeaters, thornbills, wrens and bellbirds. The native fauna includes echidnas, kangaroos and possums. There is a similar variety of flora and fauna in Lysterfield, whose lake also attracts waterfowl such as ducks, swans and pelicans. The suburb's name stems not from any connection with the nobility, but from the given name of a son of one of the region's first sub-dividers, Allan Buckley. His other five children's names were given to local streets. The main Noble Park shopping strip flanks the railway station and the community centre and swimming pool are within walking distance of the train terminal.
