It marks the start of the long distance Heysen Trail, a waking trail which extends northwards all the way to the Flinders Ranges.
Deep Creek Conservation Park is a rugged coastal park some 13km from Cape Jervis on the southern side of the Fleurieu Peninsula. There is an extensive network of bushwalks although care should be taken due to the challenging nature of some of the trails.
At dusk, Western Grey Kangaroos can be spotted grazing beside the track and birdwatchers can hope to see some of the over 100 species seen in the park.
