Industrially and commercially, it’s busy out Forrestfield way - about 15km south-east of Perth’s CBD. For a start, this is where Perth’s railway marshalling yards are located and it’s just a stone’s throw north-west to Perth Airport.
Forrestfield can safely be described as a sports-mad suburb, and the general area abounds in sporting fields and facilities catering to both rugby codes, soccer, baseball and Australian Rules players.
There’s a nice lake out this way, too, which is popular with locals as a barbecuing and picnicking spot. And, of course, like most of Perth’s nearer suburbs, all the attractions of this great city are within close range - the central business district, the beaches, the Swan Valley and the Darling ranges can all be reached within a 30-minutes’ drive.
In fact, it's just 15 minutes or so by car to the heart of the Swan Valley which is rapidly growing in prominence as one of Australia's very best wine producing areas.
