Woodville is part of the Switched on City of Charles Sturt, a municipality which supports 102,000 people living in the corridor between the Adelaide CBD and a 13km coastline that stretches from the historic Port Adelaide precinct in the north to West Beach in the south.
The coastal stretch also embraces such popular metropolitan beaches and aquatic playgrounds as Grange and Henley. It is a coastline that includes two popular jetties and the last remnants of natural sand dunes in the metropolitan area.
Its tourist-attracting energy apart, Charles Sturt is just 10 minutes from the action of Adelaide City, from the International Airport, from the West Lakes rowing facility, from the living history of the Port and from a host of large sporting complexes.
The sports-oriented municipality hosts Football Park, Hindmarsh Stadium, the Clipsal Powerhouse and such notable and challenging golf courses as the Grange, Royal Adelaide and Kooyonga which flanks the airport.
